Overview
An underground cave temple to Shiva on six levels in Clifton, Karachi, near Clifton Beach. It is one of the city's larger annual pilgrim draws, with around 25,000 reported at Shivaratri.
History
Popularly called three hundred years old, but the citation trail behind that includes a source describing it as a hundred and fifty years old. The two figures conflict and neither is traceable in what was consulted.
Spiritual Significance
A six-level subterranean Shiva temple in the middle of Pakistan's largest city is unusual in itself, and it remains a functioning centre of worship for Karachi's Hindu community.

Pilgrimage Information
Current status: Active, restored after road works damaged it in 2014. Anyone planning to travel should check entry requirements and local conditions independently and close to the date. Indian passport holders face visa restrictions for Pakistan that change with the political weather, and access to several of these sites has historically depended on organised pilgrim groups rather than individual travel.
