Ekanan chaturanan panchanan raje

The one-faced, four-faced and five-faced forms shine resplendent

हंसासन गरूड़ासन वृषवाहन साजे

Hansasan garudasan vrishvahan saje

Adorned on the swan-seat, the Garuda-seat and the bull-mount

दो भुज चार चतुर्भुज दसभुज अति सोहे

Do bhuj char chaturbhuj dasbhuj ati sohe

Two arms, four arms, ten arms, all look most beautiful

त्रिगुण रूप निरखते त्रिभुवन जन मोहे

Trigun roop nirakhte tribhuvan jan mohe

Beholding your three-guna form, the people of the three worlds are enchanted

अक्षमाला वनमाला मुण्डमाला धारी

Akshamala vanmala mundmala dhari

Wearing the rosary, the forest-garland and the garland of skulls

त्रिपुरारी कंसारी कर माला धारी

Tripurari kansari kar mala dhari

Destroyer of Tripura, you hold the garland in your hand

श्वेताम्बर पीताम्बर बाघम्बर अंगे

Shvetambar pitambar baghambar ange

White-robed, yellow-robed, and tiger-skin clad upon your body

सनकादिक गरुणादिक भूतादिक संगे

Sankadik garunadik bhootadik sange

In the company of Sanaka and other sages, Garuda and others, and the spirit-hosts

कर के मध्य कमण्डलु चक्र त्रिशूलधारी

Kar ke madhya kamandalu chakra trishuldhari

In your hands a water-pot, a discus and a trident you bear

सुखकारी दुखहारी जगपालन कारी

Sukhkari dukhhari jagpalan kari

Giver of joy, remover of sorrow, sustainer of the world

ब्रह्मा विष्णु सदाशिव जानत अविवेका

Brahma Vishnu Sadashiv janat aviveka

Brahma, Vishnu and Sadashiva; the undiscerning cannot truly know you

मधु-कैटभ दोउ मारे, सुर भयहीन करे

Madhu-Kaitabh dou maare, sur bhayheen kare

You slew the two demons Madhu and Kaitabha and freed the gods from fear

लक्ष्मी व सावित्री पार्वती संगा

Lakshmi va Savitri Parvati sanga

Lakshmi, Savitri and Parvati are at your side

पार्वती अर्द्धांगी, शिवलहरी गंगा

Parvati ardhangi, Shivlahari Ganga

Parvati as half your body, and the Ganga flowing in waves from Shiva

पर्वत सोहैं पार्वती, शंकर कैलासा

Parvat sohain Parvati, Shankar Kailasa

Parvati graces the mountain, Shankar dwells on Kailasa

भांग धतूर का भोजन, भस्मी में वासा

Bhang dhatoor ka bhojan, bhasmi mein vasa

Bhang and datura are your fare, and you dwell amid ashes

जटा में गंग बहत है, गल मुण्डन माला

Jata mein Gang bahat hai, gal mundan mala

In your matted locks the Ganga flows, on your neck a garland of skulls

शेष नाग लिपटावत, ओढ़त मृगछाला

Shesh Naag liptavat, odhat mrigchhala

The serpent Shesha coils about you, and you wear a deerskin

काशी में विराजे विश्वनाथ, नन्दी ब्रह्मचारी

Kashi mein viraje Vishwanath, Nandi brahmchari

In Kashi you are enthroned as Vishwanath, with Nandi the celibate attendant

नित उठ दर्शन पावत, महिमा अति भारी

Nit uth darshan pavat, mahima ati bhari

Rising daily, devotees take your darshan; your glory is immense

त्रिगुणस्वामी जी की आरति जो कोइ नर गावे

Trigunswami ji ki aarti jo koi nar gave

Whoever sings this aarti of the Lord of the three gunas

कहत शिवानन्द स्वामी, मनवान्छित फल पावे

Kahat Shivanand Swami, manvanchhit phal pave
