Overview
Devi Talab Mandir, in Jalandhar, Punjab, is one of the classical 51 Shakti Peethas, traditionally marking the spot where Sati's breast fell (sources differ on left versus right; this platform flags rather than resolves the discrepancy). The goddess is worshipped here as Tripuramalini.
History
The present temple was built roughly 200 years ago, and stands on the site of a large masonry water tank of similar age considered sacred by Hindus, from which the temple takes its name (Devi Talab, "Goddess's Tank").
