कीरति कलित ललित सिय पी की

kirati kalit lalit siya pi ki

whose fame is graceful and lovely, the story of Sita's beloved (Rama)

verse 1

गावत ब्रहमादिक मुनि नारद

gaavat brahmaadik muni naarad

Brahma and the gods, and the sage Narada, sing it

बाल्मीकि बिग्यान बिसारद

baalmiki bigyaan bisaarad

and Valmiki, master of sacred wisdom

शुक सनकादिक शेष अरु शारद

shuk sanakaadik shesh aru shaarad

Shuka, the Sanaka sages, Shesha and Sharada (Saraswati)

बरनि पवनसुत कीरति नीकी

barani pavansut kirati niki

and Hanuman the wind's son, all tell its fine glory

गावत बेद पुरान अष्टदस

gaavat bed puraan ashtadas

The Vedas and the eighteen Puranas sing it

छओं शास्त्र सब ग्रंथन को रस

chhaon shaastra sab granthan ko ras

it is the essence of the six shastras and all scriptures

मुनि जन धन संतान को सरबस

muni jan dhan santaan ko sarbas

the whole treasure of sages and the wealth of the devout

सार अंश सम्मत सब ही की

saar ansh sammat sab hi ki

and the wise sage Agastya, born of a pot

ब्यास आदि कबिबर्ज बखानी

byaas aadi kabibarj bakhaani

Vyasa and the foremost poets have expounded it

कागभुशुंडि गरुड़ के ही की

kaagbhushundi garud ke hi ki

as told between Kakabhushundi and Garuda

कलिमल हरनि बिषय रस फीकी

kalimal harani bishay ras phiki

It removes the sins of the Kali age and makes worldly pleasures taste flat

सुभग सिंगार मुक्ति जुबती की

subhag singaar mukti jubati ki

the lovely adornment of the maiden Liberation

दलनि रोग भव मूरि अमी की

dalani rog bhav muuri ami ki

the nectar-root that destroys the disease of worldly existence

तात मातु सब बिधि तुलसी की

taat maatu sab bidhi tulsi ki

and in every way the father and mother of Tulsidas
