Overview
A major Digambara centre near Damoh, built around a widely venerated fifteen-foot seated image of Rishabhanatha known as Bade Baba, of the post-Gupta period. Not to be confused with Kundalpur in Nalanda district, Bihar, which is the Digambara claimant to Mahavira's birthplace. Sect: Digambara.
History
The original temple is dated to the eighth century CE, and the image to the post-Gupta period, which is a broad bracket rather than a precise date.
Spiritual Significance
Bade Baba is one of the most venerated images in Digambara practice in central India, and the temple that holds it is the oldest at the site. The devotion here attaches to the image itself rather than to an event in a tirthankara's life.

Getting there and getting in. About 37 km from Damoh town, on level ground. Jain temples of this rank commonly prohibit leather articles, restrict photography, and expect bathing before worship.
